Mr. Marcus has a great fan base of almost 50 thousand followers on Twitter and a website to keep up with his fans (mrmarcus.com). He also wrote many of his memories in an online book. He’s 45 years ‘young’ and has two beautiful daughters.

This interview was made back in 2016 with Inside Porn and was never published. Until now.

You are from the gold era of porn.  When did porn become ‘a thing’ for you?

I started watching porn when I was about 16 years old. Actually I could hardly watch it because even though we had regular cable channels my parents had the adult channel blocked but it still came through with a distorted and fuzzy reception and it was enough to capture my interest.

When did you decide to enter the industry?

I started trying to find a way into the porn industry at the end of 1993. I went to AVN in January of 1994 and met Ron Hightower and Heather Lee and Heather on the spot recommended that I get into the industry and offered to help introduce me to people.

What does it take to be a porn star?

To be a porn star it takes stamina and creativity. You must enjoy the attention and thrive in any environment. Dick size doesn’t matter but it helps. It gives the girl something to work with. Basically you gotta be horny and know how to get girls off sexually.

What was your first scene like?

My first official scene was with Heather Lee and everything started out ok, we took all the hardcore pictures first (piece of cake) and then when it came time to film, I failed – no wood – nothing. But I was determined to bounce back and have a career in movies. I think it worked out.

How does it feel to be a porn star?

Being a porn star is the best of two worlds…I’m famous that people know who I am, but I’m not that famous enough where I can’t go places, I can go anywhere and people treat me like anybody else. Plus this is a different type of occupation it’s not every day you meet a porn star. I consider myself an explicit actor

Do people recognize you in the streets?

Yep they recognize me, but they never know where from. And then when they do, the look on their face is priceless. I wanna holler I fuck for a living.

Do you have a role model?

My role model in the porn world is Sean Michaels and Lexington Steele, both are successful businessmen in the adult industry. I can appreciate that. Plus we all got the same bitches.

What do you do in your spare time?

In my spare time I like to travel, I’m currently studying psychology online and I’m a movie fanatic so I’m constantly engaging in theaters weekly. I also like loud music and dancing so I’m frequently enjoying the LA nightlife.

How would you describe your personality?

I would describe my personality as outgoing social, very sexual and curious. Quick learner and I have a wicked sense of humor, it borderlines on mean.

What are you doing lately?

I’m working on writing another book and I’m developing a studio in Orange County. We are building a business in the OC which will produce adult content for distribution. I want my own porn compound.

How do you interact with your fans?

I like the accessibility social media provides. I’ve always answered my own emails and ran my own website. So it comes normal handling all my social media duties. It’s just some shit I like to do, I get a lot of ideas from my fans. I have fans from all walks of life. They are male and female. Young and old. I think I’m lucky as fuck to have so many different fans.

What was your most difficult scene?

The most difficult scene I was in was the Worlds Luckiest Black Man, because it had so many women in it and I had to perform on a higher level. Performing in front of the camera and making sure every girl was pleased was a challenge. I haven’t had any bad accidents happen on set. Cops have raided a few sets I was on, girls have done too many drugs and walked down the street naked.

What’s your take on Brazil?

I love Brazil. My take on Brazil is that it’s a black man’s paradise. The girls are horny, beautiful and confident. I like that. It’s gangsta and festive and sexual without trying. I’ve shot down there before. Only once. I haven’t worked with many Internet companies. They wont hire me for many reasons. Lol. Gotta just create my own.

Do you think porn is a narcissistic job?

Yeah it’s narcissistic in nature. But at the same time it can be empowering and inspirational for other people who enjoy looking at you.

Would you do a gay scene?

I’m not gay. I don’t even consider anything gay. I like women, sexy beautiful women.
